Bike racing can be both exhilarating and draining, although when you want to win you need to maintain focused on your goal as you train. In fact, whether you are training for a race or just keeping up your habit as a professional biker, the following bike racing tips will be helpful.

The proper combination of workout, diet, rest and best practice is the key to winning a bike race.

You need to increase your endurance for long-distance bike racing. The first of the bike racing tips is to train for this; the right set of exercises is necessary to do this. The training programs include pace or tempo training, slow training for long distance races, circuit training, interval training and such others. Winning a bike race is simple when you have the endurance to take long and strenuous hours of strict workout.

Only long distance bike riding skills would not be sufficient for winning a race. Bike racing advice also comprises exercises that give you enough durability to put that extra ‘kick’ in the end that guarantee your win. The better way to increase the energy output of the body is to opt for a set of difficult exercises. Common stretch exercises that help you to keep fit are also necessary for professional bikers.

A good bike is a prime necessity for every biker. The bike needs to be properly fitted to the biker. Every individual has a particular body form and thus you need a bike that is a perfect match for you. Unless you and your machine are compatible it is impossible to win a race. You also need to train to properly.

Handle the bike so that in different tracks it is easy to maneuver the machine.

The importance of proper diet and adequate rest are high on the list of bike racing tips. The correct combination of calories and nutrients is required for the energy needed to ensure you emerge as a winner. The strenuous workouts of professional bikers result in damage of muscles; rest is necessary for the repair and recovery of the body.

A positive attitude, acceptance of your limitation, aiming at your goal, sincerity in your efforts; all these go a long way in making you a winner. It is necessary to know what your goal are and then chart a path towards achieving them.

Bike racing may seem like something you can do alone. However training for the same alone can easily become monotonous. This hinders your enthusiasm and so mars your chances. It is best if you can train along with a group. It is advisable to join a club or group for the same. Moreover when you involve yourself in a group you can compete with the other members and improve yourself as well.

A Bike Storage Idea That Takes Up Precisely Zero Floor Space

There never seems to be any room to store your bike? Does this sound usual? That is a problem many bike owners have especially if they live in apartments, dorm rooms or have limited space in their garage. Here is a pretty bike storage thought that is uncomplicated and works for just about anyone with limited space.

If you have little space to store your bike or maybe you have several bikes to store, the following suggestion will be helpful for you.

This is a system for bike storage that takes up correctly zero floor places.

You can use this bike storage idea for one or more bikes you may have.

It is called a ceiling mount bike hoist.

Simply put these devices allow you to store your bikes overhead and out of the way. They use pulleys and latches that make lifting even heavy bikes very easy. Many will lift bikes up to 50 lbs high over head. Some versions even are electrically operated where lifting and lowering is done with the push of a button.

They process a lot like mini blinds. They have a pulley cable you use to lift and lower the bike. The string is simple to pull even with a great bike. They are engineered to reduce the lifting weight. There is no need for a ladder.

A ceiling mount hoist is very efficient. The best part about a ceiling wind is that it stores the bike in a location that would, normally, not ever be used in your apartment, dorm room or garage.

Ceiling Mount Bike Hoists are easy to install. The important thing is that you remember to attach them to a ceiling beam or stud. This style there will be something firm so the weight will be well supported.

When shopping for the best hoists for bikes look or ones that feature locking mechanisms that prevent unwanted release. You don’t want the bike coming down in the middle of the night.

If you have little or no floor space for the storehouse of a bike is sure to suppose a ceiling mount bike hoist system. You will ascertain they are uncomplicated to use, easy to install and help to solve a great problem.

How to last through one of those crazy biking classes at the gym?

Hey my fiance is dragging me to one of those psycho biking classes at the gym in a couple hours so could I get a few ideas on how to not fry out before the class is finished?? All answers are greatly appreciated!

Answer
I know what you mean. I’ve taken spin classes for over 10 years and sometimes I have trouble making it to the end.

Here are some of the things I do. If I went really hard for the last song and I’m just fried, then I don’t follow the class to the next exercise, I’ll take all the resistance off the bike and just spin the pedals for a minute or two to rest and catch my breath and drink some water. This is useful to do if you went out too hard at the beginning of the class. Unlike real biking the rest of the class isn’t going anywhere!

The “5 minutes more” strategy. When it is really tough and I want to stop, I just say I’m going to try to go another five minutes and that’s it. A lot of times if you can hold on for just a little bit more, you’ll be able to make it through the class.

Only go at your own pace, don’t pay attention to others in the class. You don’t know their fitness level or their goals, so measuring yourself against them won’t do you any good.

Practice positive talk. When you are working out hard you have to fight down your fear that you are going to burn-out or you won’t make it through the whole class. So actively fight your feelings of fear. Visualize yourself not quiting and what it will feel like to finish strong. Try to keep this image in your mind when the going gets tough for you.

Riding a Motorcycle That Does Not Have Motorcycle Accessories is Stupid

There is no other way to put it, if you are riding without good motorcycle insurance you are just plain stupid. Most motorcycle owners have insurance but there will always be some that think it is not necessary, it is to expensive, they don’t need it because they drive safe and many more excuses. When you are the one making these excuses, please read this article and make sure you are smart not stupid. http://www.idealhere.com

Why is good motorcycle insurance so important?

There is a big difference between car and motorcycle insurance for example it is possible to just insure your motorcycle and not yourself not that this is smart thing to do but it is a possibility. You can also cover bike, rider and people that will be riding pillion on your bike. Something not all motorcycle owners do but should be is cover bodily injury and damage to property. When you are in a accident and cause damage or even injury the cost can be extremely high, motorcycle insurance will be necessary to pay for those costs.dent that causes harm to other people.

If you already own a motorcycle or if you are planning to buy one you really need to get motorcycle insurance and we know it is something some of you bike owners do not give much adequate attention to, there really is no doubt about how useful this can be. It is very simple to find a good insurance company that insures motorcycles and when you already have a insurance for your car you can check out the same insurance company because most will give you discount if you take a motorcycle insurance with their company as well.

What type of motorcycle insurance?

The type of motorcycle insurance policy will depend on:

- coverage

- price

- type of motorcycle

- neighborhood

- driving record

- age

Take as much coverage as you can afford but at least the legal minimum requirements

There is of course no limit in the amount of coverage you can take but you should at least have the legal minimum requirements, and you need to be sure that you know what they are. There are a lot of options you can choose from in the amount and the type of the coverage but it is still up to you what you decide to take for your own protection. You can also ask for additional services like roadside assistance, glass insurance, towing costs. This last service can be extremely convenient when you take long distance trips and are not so good in repairing your motorcycle.

Discount if you take a course.

You can take a riding course with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and some motorcycle insurance companies will give you ten percent discount on the insurance premium. The key messages of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation for bike owners are: http://www.idealhere.com/wholesale-Motoring_c1

1. Get trained and licensed

2. Wear protective gear — all the gear, all the time — including a helmet manufactured to the standards set by the DOT

3. Ride unimpaired by alcohol or other drugs

4. Ride within your own skill limits

5. Be a lifelong learner by taking refresher rider courses

And last but not least the final tip to pay less premium if you really want to minimize the amount of premium a cruiser is cheaper to insure than a sports bike. Bikes, bikes, bikes, that’s Frank Strider, always talking about motorcycles. He loves to tell you the ins and outs of owning one or more motorcycles at http://www.idealhere.com

If you already own a wholesale accessories or if you are planning to buy one you really need to get street bike accessories insurance and we know it is something some of you bike owners do not give much adequate attention to, there really is no doubt about how useful this can be.

How do I fix my bikes gear problem?

My bike is a 7 speed that only changes the back tire ( not the crankshaft and back, just back only ) and in most of my gears while I’m pedaling it makes loud clicking noises. I looked at it and it doesn’t seem to be scraping on something… If you how to fix this please help, or maybe reference a site for me to look at for how to fix this.
Thank you very much for your time and help!

Answer
You need to adjust the barrel adjuster on the rear derailleur. Cables tend to stretch more when new so it usually takes a turn or two of the adjuster. Try 1/2 turn counter clock wise at a time and try it. Do not adjust any of the screws, once set they never need adjustment.

How To Buy A Motorcycle Tips For That Big Purchase

Buying a brand new motorcycle is an exciting experience, and with the proper steps taken before you actually make that purchase you can enjoy the experience to the max and end up with the perfect bike for you.  There are some important tips to remember when asking yourself how to buy a motorcycle.

One of the first tips that you need to keep in mind when considering how to buy a motorcycle is deciding which style is right for you, or which style you would prefer.  You can choose from a variety of bikes, but basically you are going to choose between a cruiser, and a sport bike.  There are different variances within these two categories, but they are basically the main to that you are going to first choose from.  Cruisers are more for those who like to sit back and enjoy the ride, and the sport bike is more for those who like a little more thrill when they ride.  Which one is right for you really depends on what type of riding style you would like to have.

Another tip that you’ll need to consider when thinking about how to buy a motorcycle is how much money you are willing to spend.  Your budget will determine which one you can afford.  Harleys are typically more expensive than most cruisers if that is the style that you are going to choose.  They also carry the reputation of being the bikers bike, so if that is what you want, then you’ll have to grin and bear the extra cost.  There are motorcycles that are more budget friendly, but just as good when it comes to performance and reliability.  Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, all have great motorcycles for sale at very reasonable prices so if you’re looking for a less expensive bike, you might just want to research the different offerings from these manufacturers.  For sport bikes, there are also a number of manufacturers that provide this style of motorcycle, and they all come with their own price tag so it’s up to you to research which one you would like.

Engine size is another major factor that you need to keep in mind when deciding how to buy a motorcycle.  Engine size comes into play when you consider how much speed and power you’ll be able to handle.  For a first time rider, or a smaller person, a smaller engine size might be in order to be able to comfortably handle the bike.  If you’re more experienced and have no problems handling bigger engine size bikes, then you really have the most flexibility when it comes to this matter.

When you purchase a motorcycle, at least make it a point to research these few tips before making a final decision.  After you’ve made your purchase, make sure you also remember to stock up on gear.  Items like helmets, leather motorcycle vests, boots, are all very important pieces of equipment that every biker should have.  All of these types of gear will make every trip a comfortable one.

Bike Carrier That Fits Your Car

Most cars, nowadays, are more equipped with distinct features, which provide more things to include in your cabin when you travel. Car manufacturers made roof racks, hitches and crossbars to put in place of your sports gear in your car’s trunk, roof, and in the back. However, some of the cars are not able to give all the features.

Car bike carriers have various types that may match in your car. Car bike carriers fall into 3 categories. These include the strap-on trunk rack, the hitch mount rack, and the roof-mounted rack. These car bike carriers provide pros and cons. A quick guide will help you to identify what will be the best car bike carrier for your car.

The strap-on trunk rack, a type of car bike carrier that is applicable in all types of cars. It is the most inexpensive type of car bike carrier. It consists of straps and a rack. The straps are connected to the rack and are further attached into the car’s trunk, back, or at the rear bumper.

It can carry up to 3 bicycles. It is also a best option for those who avail of car rentals and are interested in bringing their bikes with them. It is also perfect for those who have more than one car. The downside of a strap-on trunk rack is that it may loosen and wear out, thus, compromising the security of the rack and your bikes.

The hitch mount rack is quite expensive amongst the rest. It is notable with its easy to install system. This type of car bike carrier provides good quality with regards to the security. It also gives lesser chance in damaging the paint job of your car.

Hitch mount racks have various sizes that match the class of the hitch in your car. The class I and class III differ from each other. Class I hitches are perfectly designed for most cars, while the class III hitches are usually for trucks and pick-up SUVs.

The roof-mounted rack is perfect for cars that have existing roof racks and crossbars. It is mounted on the roof, with the help of the racks or crossbars. It allows a maximum of seven bikes, depending on your car and its roof capacity. It provides also more room for other gear. However, roof-mounted racks are not applicable for tall cars. The available clearance is very limited also. It may not also be applicable in curved roof cars or convertible cars.

When you shift “up” a gear on a bike the chain moves up the front gears but down the rear gears. Why is that?

With a bike gear setup there are two gears; one large gear at the front of the bike , and one small gear at the rear. When you shift “up” (when you make it harder to pedal) the the chain moves up the front gears but down the rear gears. Why is that? Shouldn’t they both move in the same direction?

Answer
The “size” of the gear is determined by the ratio of the number of teeth on the front chainring to the number of teeth on the rear cog. For instance, if you have the chain on a 44 tooth chainring and a 22 tooth cog, the rear wheel will make two complete revolutions for every one revolution of the pedals. Whereas if you have the chain on a 32 tooth chainring and a 32 tooth cog, the rear wheel will only make one revolution for each revolution that the pedals make. Now, obviously, spinning the rear wheel twice involves more work than spinning it once.

If you move from fewer teeth to more teeth (a bigger chainring) in the front while keeping the rear the same, the back wheel will spin more which means more work. On the other hand, if you move from more teeth to fewer teeth (a smaller cog) on the rear while keeping the front the same, the rear will spin more which means more work.

Bicycle Trailers Peddling Fun That Includes The Baby

Previously parents were limited in their ability to take their children along for bicycle rides. Bicycle seats are for children who are at least able to sit up and then they are a bit precarious as well if you are not an expert bicycle rider. Now there are bicycle trailers which can be pulled safely behind your bike with up to two children.

There are many different brands and styles of bicycle trailers that can be pulled behind your bicycle. Most have two rear wheels while some have three total wheels. All are covered from the sun and other elements. Children can bring blankets and pillows inside and make a nice, comfortable ride for themselves.

Each of the bicycle trailers attach to your bicycle in a variety of ways, mostly with a long metal tube and a hitch that securely connects to your seat stem. Some of them come with an extra harness strap for added security.

Many of the bicycle trailers are made not only for use with the bicycles, but convert into walking strollers, snow ski strollers or jogging strollers. This multiple use trailer is one of the higher-end bicycle trailers , but well worth the additional cost for the extra uses. There are even snow ski bicycle trailer kits to be able to place skis on the bottom of the trailer so you can snow ski or skate ski or even snow shoe with your child or children in the trailer while you wear a harness and pull the trailer along behind you.

Made of a durable, breathable material, a mixture of vinyl, and tent material, the bicycle trailers can tow one or two children or up to 100 pounds of camping gear, hiking gear or whatever you need to haul with your bicycle. They also come with a thin layer of netting so that bugs stay out and your child can see the world as they travel along with you. And many of the bicycle trailers are lightweight so that you are not weighing down when you are cycling. In addition, if something were to happen to you on your bike and you do tumble, the trailer will remain upright and the children or gear will be safe.

A bicycle trailer is great for taking the smaller children to preschool or having them accompany you to the grocer for a few items. Bicycling is a great way to stay fit and taking your little ones along is more fun than doing it alone. Using your bicycle trailer to haul groceries will save you gas by not using your car, or when you go camping, you can take the bicycle trailer on the trails with hiking and camping or fishing gear so you don’t have to use a backpack.

Babies and small infants must be secured in a car seat before being placed in the bicycle trailer. Even though the trailers are stable and rarely tip over, the babies do get jostled around quite a bit and babies and infants can’t hold on or sit up like toddlers and older children can. They must be protected and a carrier or car seat is the best way to protect them from bumps.

So if you are an active parent who enjoys a leisurely bicycle ride, a bicycle trailer is a great way to combine both your love of riding and your love of your children.

Learn more about bicycle trailers and understand why many parents choose bicycle trailers for their outdoor enjoyment. David Cummings is General Manager of Bustling Baby, a business devoted to providing baby mobility, comfort, and convenience to active families.

Does anyone know if Fixed Gear bicycle wheels can work on geared road bikes?

Im want to purchase a fixed gear wheel for style but I have a geared bike so im wondering if i can still use it. Or is fixed gear wheels only for fixed gear bikes?

Answer
One thing to consider is the distance between the outside of the lock nuts. Traditional fixed wheel bikes have this size at 120mm. If your frame has this dimension then, allowing for chain line, a fixed wheel will fit into your machine.

If the frame is made of half decent steel, the rear drop outs can be cold set. Make sure that the drop outs remain square.

Talking of drop outs, you will need at least semi vertical drop outs so that chain adjustments can be made. Traditional fixed wheel bikes have track ends that are horizontal ‘drop outs’.

You can’t use a chain tensioner with a fixed wheel bike.

You will also need a single chain ring. These can be converted from a multi geared chain set and I would advise the purchase of suitable chain ring bolts for a single chain ring.

Chain line is very very important. It will probably involve a different sized bottom bracket and or chain ring spacers.

Don’t do it for style as you probably won’t enjoy it. Fixed wheel riding is a totally different way of riding a bike that uses different skills and a different mind set.

EBike The Bike That Cares

A revolutionary mode of transport is truly necessary in today’s highly-urbanized world so that people can get to their desired destination in no time. However, due to the current global economic crisis, gas prices are getting inconsistent. For this reason, electric vehicles such as the e-bike are now becoming more and more popular.

E-bikes are great for people who are already fed up with the endless traffic jams along the road. And buying it allows you to spend less. Thus, if you need an inexpensive mode of transport, an electric bicycle is just the thing.

The first thing you must basically do is to identify what you really want in an electric bike. Do you want an e-bike with power assisted pedaling, one with a twist throttle, or both? Do you want one that folds? How many miles do it need a charge to last?

Primarily, you must look around and explore different bicycles first. Then get some ideas on each of them. This way, you can assess and differentiate.

After that, you must now search for the e-bike that best meets your specifications and that you ultimately have a thing about. It is suggested that you check out the Internet for this. Plus you can also read various e-bike product reviews on the World Wide Web. It’s good to use the method that you like better.

Take your time in selecting the best e-bike that goes well with you and your lifestyle. If possible, do some comparison shopping. For the most part, don’t be in a hurry to buy one. Actually, on any major purchase, you should really spend a moment or two in doing some comparison shopping.

Once you’ve found the bike that you have a thing about, you need to either order it online or find a local retailer within your area. If there are no local retailers and you cannot order online for some reason or another, then you might need to find the nearest retailer and make a bit of a journey.

And as soon as your e-bike arrives at your doorstep, you might still need to assemble some parts of it together. But if you think that you cannot do it yourself, you can also bring it to a local bike shop and have them do it for you. Then once your electric bicycle is already assembled, you can now enjoy it and ultimately make the most of it!

How effective is mountain biking when it comes to weight loss?

I got a little heavy these last couple of years, and I am looking to work it all off. I am only a little chunky, not fat or anything, but I want the body I once had.

I go to the gym 3-4 times a week, its hard with school and work to go more than that, but I do own a nice mountain bike, and live right next to a mountain preserve, which there is MANY bike trails. It would be easier to take my bike out than drive to the gym.

But my question is, how effective is mountain biking? Is it a good form of cardio? I do weight training at the gym, usually an hour set sometimes longer. Will doing this help with fat // weight loss?

Answer
when it comes to weight loss its not a big help.

is it preferrable to stop the bike or keep it in gear mode?

i runs hero honda passion, i had the habit of keeping the bike in gear mode mode even when it is not in working , some times for a shorter period of time also i kept in athe same mode ,,,i vl not kept in neutral mode .
will it effect the performance of the bike engine ? is it preferrable or not?

Answer
If you are stopped in traffic, keep the bike in gear so that you can move quickly if you need to.

You can also leave the bike in gear when you park so that it will be more stable and not roll if you park on an incline.
